Pasteurisation ensures that the level of microbacterial growth is insufficient to cause human harm. This process minimises the risk of bacterial contamination.
All Norco dairy products are pasteurised.
This is because when it is processed the milk is forced through a fine gap which evenly distributes fat particles through the milk. Non-homogenised milk will have a cream layer on top of the milk as it has not gone through this process. These are often referred to as cream top or farm fresh milk. If you are specifically after non-homogenised milk, why not try Norco Non-Homogenised?
However, low fat or no fat milks are not suitable as a complete milk food for children under 2 years of age.
Milk (and other dairy foods) contain many essential vitamins and minerals, including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, protein (amino acids), riboflavin, Vitamin A, Vitamin Bs (B1, B2, B6 , B12), zinc, and carbohydrates.
Make sure your fridge is set at less than 5°C. We always recommend you store your Norco product in the fridge shelves not the door – the door can be as much as 6°C warmer than the rest of the fridge!
