Ingredients:
400 gr of beef mince
1 egg
2 tbsp of chopped chives
3 tbsp of grated parmesan cheese
50 gr of fine breadcrumb
finely grated zest of 1 lemon
100ml of milk
salt and pepper for seasoning
4 burger buns
4 slices of mild provolone
3 roma or vina tomatoes, sliced
4 baby lettuce leaves
3 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil for cooking the patties
Tomato sauce for serving
Method:
Combine mince, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, parmesan, lemon zest and chives together in a bowl, and mix thoroughly. Season well.
Diving the mixture into 4 patties.
Heat up the oil in a large non-stick pan or griddle pan and cook the meat on both sides over medium heat according to how done you like it. Place 1 slice of provolone on top of each pattie and let the residual heat start to melt it. Lift the patties and place them onto the bottom half of the burger buns, add a few slices of tomato and 1 lettuce leaf and top with the top of the bun.
Serve with tomato sauce, if liked.
