How does Norco make its lactose free range?

While many people are able to naturally produce an enzyme called lactase, there is a proportion of the population who do not have enough in their system to properly digest the lactose in dairy. This population do not have to go without dairy milk though. Norco’s Lactose Free range is produced with the lactase enzyme, breaking down the lactose into the two smaller easy to digest sugars – glucose and galactose.

Does the nutritional value of Norco products change when lactose is removed?

Norco Lactose Free range still has the same nutritional profile as regular dairy. The process that breaks down the lactose from milk does not of the other nutrients found in milk such as protein and calcium.

It is often said that Lactose Free milk tastes sweeter than regular milk. This is due to the lactose breaking down into the two simpler sugars. Norco Lactose Free milk does not contain any added sugar, but the naturally occurring sugars taste sweeter than when they are broken down.
