Norco, Australia’s oldest and largest dairy co-operative, has announced it will be launching not one but two new exciting ranges for Australian consumers to enjoy this summer and includes the much-anticipated return of Norco Cape Byron, a premium ice cream brand from the mid 90’s, reimagined to create a new textural ice cream experience for today’s modern foodies and ice cream lovers alike.
Along with Norco Cape Byron, and in a nod to its dairy heritage and expertise, the Norco 100% Australian farmer-owned 2 litre range also hits shelves this month providing great value and delicious classic flavours the whole family will love.
Aussies have a special sweet spot for the delicious treat with research revealing we consumed 257 million litres of ice cream last year[1], with at least one tub making it into 10 million family freezers every week[2].
And with experts predicting the hottest summer on record, Norco’s ice cream return is great news for consumers who want to beat the heat by indulging in some of the tastiest, and most delicious, Aussie farmer owned dairy.
Drawing inspiration from its namesake, Norco Cape Byron promises to deliver a bountiful and indulgent dessert experience, carefully crafted with mouthfuls of sensational textures, tasty morsels and rivers of ripples to deliver a gourmet escape for the senses.
Made with fresh milk and cream from Norco’s farms in picturesque Northern Rivers, Norco Cape Bryon is available in three decadent flavours – Ultimate Vanilla, Classic Cookie Dough, and Chocolate Lava Brownie – making it the perfect dessert to enjoy at home, or the crowd pleaser favourite at the next Christmas or Summer holiday soiree.
Cookbook author and Northern Rivers food aficionado, Magdalena Roze worked closely with Norco to curate the Norco Cape Byron line up of flavours, enabling Aussie families to bask in the best of Australian made dairy. She believes the range is one of the greatest food pleasures derived from the impressive Northern Rivers food bowl.
“Living in the Northern Rivers, partnering with Norco just made sense as we both hold a deep connection with our local communities, and are always looking for ways to give back to the region. That’s what farmer owned, Australian owned and Australian made is all about,” Magdalena said.
“We are surrounded by dairy farms here, so Norco is a big part of the Northern Rivers fabric. It’s a heritage brand that we know and love, so I’m excited and honoured to be a part of this delicious next chapter. And of all the things I’ve done, I think this is the project that’s most impressed my kids!” she said.
The launch of Norco’s Cape Byron ice cream range couldn’t come at a better time as we head into Christmas and the season of celebrations with what is forecast to be the hottest summer on record.
“Summer is my favourite time of the year for entertaining and creating memories with family and friends over shared meals, which can now be made even better with the tastiest ice cream on supermarket shelves, it is seriously good. It’s no secret that I’m passionate about local produce and I get excited about this ice cream because I know what lush pastures the milk and cream comes from!” Magdalena continued.
“I love the joy that ice cream brings to a dining table, gathering or moment – it’s one of those treats that feeds the soul. For me, the Norco Cape Byron flavour range inspires a moment of decadent, sweet escape whether it’s a moment of solitude at the end of a busy day or shared moments with family and friends when entertaining” she concludes.
Also being launched into supermarket freezers, Norco’s 100% Australian Farmer Owned range, a celebration of Norco’s milestone of over 70 years of making ice cream in the heart of Lismore. The range delivers the simple pleasures of high-quality dairy in good, old-fashioned flavours including Classic Vanilla, Caramel Choc Honeycomb, and Chocolate Choc Cookie.
