Quality and Food Safety
Norco Foods Commitments to Food Safety and Quality
Norco is proud to be committed to producing products that are of the highest quality. Food safety is at the forefront of what we do and we are diligent in ensuring that all of our products exceed the relevant standards, and food safety legislations. This ensures that we continue to deliver to the expectations of our consumers and our customers as we have done so since 1895.
Our actions to ensure quality and food safety are guided by the company’s Food Safety & Quality Policy and our commitment to this statement across our organisation, ensures our products continue to delight our consumers for years to come.
How we ensure quality and food safety
Norco is a 100% Australian Farmer Owned Co-operative, and our quality starts with our farmers. Our Norco Milk Supply team work alongside local regulators and Norco farmers, to ensure a collaborative approach to maintaining the highest quality farming standards. It’s this diligence that our farmer members place on their standards, that ensures that the best quality milk comes off farm, through our manufacturing facilities and into the households of not only Australian consumers, but consumers all over the world.
Norco have three manufacturing sites across Australia, one in Raleigh NSW; one in Lismore NSW and one in Labrador QLD. Each of these Norco sites maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) with the primary objective of ensuring safe food production and distribution.
Norco’s QMS is assessed annually by third party auditors and complies with local regulations (New South Wales Food Authority/SafeFood QLD) and the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program which is an international standard recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
The SQF Program is a rigorous and credible food safety and quality program that incorporates elements such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) defined by food safety experts as necessary for making food production as safe as possible.
At Norco, food safety is at the heart of everything we do, and the proof is the great tasting, high quality, safe dairy products that we produce.
